From the 6th to the 13th of July- 14th edition

To join in the Megavalanche of Alpe d’Huez is to start at the top of the MTB Legend. Considered as the absolute reference, world’s biggest downhill race is all about superlatives: 1400 participants, 20 nations repreted, 4 days training and races, cumulating over 13,124ft vertical drop, one whole week of events, a support village.

The Marmotte race is one of the oldest and the most difficult. With more than 5000 meters of difference in height and 174 km in the mythics passes of the Glandon, the Télégraphe, the Galibier and the Lautaret with the arrrival in Alpe d'Huez.Every year more than 6000 competitors from the 5 continents are meeting at this race.

Two tours are proposed beside the 174 km one :

-The half Marmotte : saturday 4th of july 2008 from Valloir to Alpe d'Huez 76 km 2500 meters of difference in height.
-The Marmotte hike : cycle hike on the Marmotte course in 2 days.

Friday the 3 rd of july : Bourg d'Oisans-Valloire  : 98 km and 2500 meters difference in height.
Saturday the 4th of july : Valloire- Alpe d'Huez : 76 km and  2500 meters difference in height.

6TH  FITNESS MEETING

 from the 16th to the 19th of July

A fun and sporty event, managed by 6 teachers from all over the world. The dynamic program will include : step, hip hop, latino, stretching....and will stard on thursday with  the highest fitness class in the world at the top of the Pic Blanc 3330 meters high

During this big meeting, organised by the Dauphiné air club and Alpe d 'Huez, you will discover the flying in mountain with old and new planes, and the moutain airfield will be opened and faew activities will be proposed, like first flights in plane and microlight, simulated flights, model aircraft, kites....

- Triathlon sprint (swimming : 500m, bike : 15km, running : 4 km, in Vaujany
- Triathlon for children in Alpe d'Huez

- A long distance triathlon (swimming  : 2200m, bike : 115km, running : 22km) between Vaujany and l’Alpe d’Huez
- A short distance triathlon (swimming : 1100m, bike : 30 km, running : 7 km) between Vaujany and l’Alpe d’Huez

This event will take place on a closed circuit : the Eclose one, 1500 meters long, made of soil with jumps for a good show!! With the best pilotes !!

6th Friendship tournament « Pete Laliberté » Gala match : International tournament of Fair Play Tournament organised by the Yetis of Alpe d'Huez : Canada, Switzerland, United States and Russia will be here this year.

Running ascent of the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez : more than 500 runners and walkers and a mini race for children 2.1 km on the Avenue des Jeux in the resort

In the resort, there will be a rebuilded medieval village, with a lot of events : making coins, crush ore, coats arms, spinning, juggling, weaving
